Educational Background

Jayong Koo received B.S. and M.S degrees from University of Seoul, Korea, in 1990 and 1992.
He received Ph.D. degree from TOKYO METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY in 1997, respectably and His doctoral dissertation was Study on Short-term Water Demand Prediction in Urban Area.
since 1997, he has been a professor in Dept. of Environmental Engineering, University of Seoul , Seoul, Korea

Research Interest

Dr. Koo¡¯s main area of research is Water and Wastewater system including engineering, operation, maintenance, water supply device.
He is currently working toward asset management of Water and Wastewater and development of Next water distribution network combined management system (G BEST) supported by Ministry of Environment.

Honors/Awards

Dr. Koo received a Seoul city mayor¡¯s citation in 2001 and 2002, consecutively. In 2003, he was a awardee of the International Exchange Fund of Japan Society on Water Environment and received a Minister of the Environment citation in 2005.
In 2008, he received a lifetime achievement award from Korean Society Of Environmental Engineers and prime minister citation that is called proud water and wastewater people and paper award from Korean Society Of Water and Wastewater.
In 2010 and 2012, he was recipient of the presentation thesis from Korean Society On Water Environment and Korean Society Of Environmental Engineers.
